Pond Planting Design

You have spent time and money on creating a new ornamental pond or a wonderful wildlfe pond.  Now is the time to add your plants, but what to put in?

Thats where a pond planting plan is essential.

Why do I need a Pond Planting Plan?

  • What plants are suitable to your size of pond? Some pond plants can be invasive and only suitable for larger ponds/lakes others are perfect for smaller ponds.
  • What depths do I plant my pond plants?  Pond plants can be either marginal or deep water plants and many require a specific depth of water to grow well.
  • Which plants will give me interest through out the year?  There are a range of plants that flower and provide interest at different times of the year.
  • What plants can I use in certain colours?  There are many different colours available in pond plants.
  • Which plants are native ?  Some people prefer using native pond plants to avoid non native plants getting into other water courses.

I design a pond planting plan to suit your size and style of pond.  I will discuss with you colour, height and structure and also take into account your surrounding garden so that it does not look out of place.

I can also then cost up and supply your plants with delivery and installation.

‘We asked Emma to suggest planting for our new wildlife pond. She did this and impressed us enough to ask her to design and plant all the area around and in the pond, a substantial area. She produced first class beautifully drawn plans showing every plant. She then sourced and supplied all of the plants and trees. She and her team then planted the entire area. They are lovely people to have around. She has remained available for monitoring and suggesting improvements while always being open to our requirements and suggestions. After just over a year we cannot believe how the pond and surroundings look. We were and are very impressed with Emma’s work. - Bob -Devon Consuls
